Volunteering

  • The Concept

With the Cleveland SVP model of giving, partners contribute not just their money, but their time and particular professional expertise – whether that's marketing, financial, organizational, legal, or technical in nature. This unique approach to philanthropy helps nonprofits build their organizational capacity. It also helps partners truly understand not only the social issues they hope to impact, but also the unique challenges that nonprofit organizations face.

  • Working With Investees

A Cleveland SVP partner volunteer serves as the team lead for the capacity-building work with an investee.  Together they refine the scope of the project.  Depending on the project, other partners are drawn in to offer their particular expertise.

  •  Working Within Cleveland SVP

Partners also may join other working groups to get involved with our education events, marketing and recruiting, the investment process or serving on our board of directors.

  • The Commitment

We recognize that everyone is at a different stage in their life.  That is what makes Cleveland SVP so dynamic.  Not everyone can give a great deal of time in addition to their financial contribution and that's OK.

Partners who are team leads working with investees give a considerable amount of time.  Those who are unable to give time feel gratified that their contribution will leverage the time of their partners who are able to make that commitment.
