Investment Team

  • What's an Investment Team?

The Investment Teams are the heart and soul of how we select those nonprofit organizations in which we will invest. Currently, one investment cycle is conducted each year.  The Team's work runs from June through November.

  • The Commitment

Investment Team members serve for a term of five to six months. During this time, Team members attend all regularly scheduled meetings to first learn about the issue areas that Cleveland SVP supports, and then to review proposals, conduct site visits, and select an investee.

Team members attend meetings of the entire team monthly.   In between they learn about our focus area and meet in subteams to review letters of intent and later full proposals, conduct due diligence, and make site visits.  In a final meeting the full team shares and discusses the information they have gathered and selects the next investee.

  • How to Join an Investment Team

Team membership is open to any Cleveland SVP Partner, and membership does not require prior volunteer or grant-making experience.
