HOLIDAY HOOPLA!

Thanks to all who attended the Partners’ Holiday Party and a big thank you to Partner Chann Spellman for hosting. There were many celebratory moments including:

    •    The announcement of a NEW PARTNER – Christi Woods. She will be profiled in the January newsletter.
    •    A mini-workshop with Doc and Santina from SVP Investee Progressive Arts Alliance which revealed how powerful hip hop is as a medium for connecting students to musical roots, poetry, and self-expression while simultaneously developing their creativity and self-esteem. Several of our members -- including Rachel, Joyce, Christi and Linda-- discovered their hidden talents as turntablists. In fact, Joyce’s look of delight when she created certain pitches was priceless! Guest Peter Myers also took a turn and riffed with Linda and Doc.
    •    The presence of our new investee – Open Doors Academy – which was well represented by its Executive Director, AnneMarie Grassi, and Development Director, Deena Rankin.
