Partner Profile: Jim Haas

Jim Haas, Partner, father of three boys under four years old, and New Jersey native, was a research assistant at the Federal Reserve from 1995 to 1998. Jim lived and worked in D.C. between studying economics, math and computer science at Allegheny College and earning an MBA at the University of Chicago. He and his wife Shelly, a dentist, came to Cleveland when Jim joined Progressive Insurance in 2002. Jim is currently the Director of Auto R&D, or “where we figure out how much to charge people,” he says.  The Haas family lives in Cleveland Heights, and Jim enjoys cooking and music when he’s not chasing three-year-old Egan, two-year-old Cormac, and five-month-old Rowan.

Jim joined CSVP in 2007 for “the opportunity to be more actively involved in a non-profit, rather than just giving money,” and chairs the Strategic Planning Committee (read more!). He’s contributed his services to the Investment Team and has enjoyed “meeting interesting folks and getting a better window into the non-profit world.”
