What do you do when you sell your company and retire, yet still want apply your experience, energy, and resources in a new, meaningful way? That's what Mike Klein asked himself two years ago. The first thing he did was travel---extensively. Mike has visited Australia, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Barbados, and more. As we saw at the holiday party, Mike is an avid collector of art and artifacts, primarily from the American Southwest.

Then Mike was ready to engage.

Mike became a CSVP Partner in March 2009 after being referred to us by his son-in-law Earl Pike, Executive Director of the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland. After selling his business, Mike was looking for a way to continue the philanthropic and community spirit he had fostered at his company, and was attracted to CSVP by our mission of meaningful volunteer engagements.

He is the former owner and president of a 102-year-old health and beauty aid company, Sentinel Consumer Products. At Sentinel, Mike created a culture of charitable involvement through monthly service events, disaster relief efforts, and a company steering committee on community involvement. He also developed Senti-Cause, an employee-sponsored organization to raise funds for various causes.

Mike is a native of Illinois and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with degrees in economics and history. He is an avid golfer with three adult children. Mike got to work with CSVP right away, joining the 2009 Investment Team and volunteering to work on our Marketing and Membership Development Team in 2010. Thanks, Mike, for your passion and commitment to CSVP's vision!
